Awardee: Shinya Shimizu, Elephantech CEO & CTO
Title: LCA as a Tool for Innovation: How to Leverage LCA to Accelerate a Sustainable-Tech Startup

Comment from the awardee, Shinya Shimizu, CEO & CTO of Elephantech Inc.,
I am glad to announce I won the award at EcoBalance 2022, which is one of the biggest conferences in LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) area. While LCA of environmental impacts are becoming essential to large corporates, startups rarely spend resources on it because of the lack of its methodology and its unclear benefit.
However, I believe LCA is one of the most cost-efficient activities for startups that are changing the world by providing technologies that have high environmental impacts, including climate tech, because it quickly shows the impact of the technologies. In this presentation, I explained methodology and effect of LCA, showing our case, including a large deal obtained solely because of LCA.
I hope more startups leverage LCA and create more impacts on the world.
